After receiving an award from the Richard King Mellon Foundation, the University of Pittsburgh acquired the 3-acre parcel along the Monongahela River to become a life sciences innovation project for the region.
The 185,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art biomanufacturing facility, will scale and deliver novel cell and gene treatments and therapies from concept to market.
The final form of the facility is aimed at filling a critical gap in local biotechnology facilities to create lifesaving and life-enhancing therapies for the Pittsburgh community and beyond.
